Frank Lloyd Wright's stained glass

Copper Pendant

As I set down to draw the other night I started thinking about Frank LLoyd Wright and stained glass windows. I drew this pendant then asked DH what he thought. His comment was "reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright." That made me feel good to know that someone else saw the same think I did.

The pendant is cut from solid copper sheet. It has a slight curve and a matte finish. The size is approximately 2 1/1" (7cm) x 1 1/2" (4cm).

Tucson Gem Show

Venetian Glass

This last week I spent a couple of days in Tucson at the fall gem show. Two days of nothing but beads, beads, beads. It was wonderful. I met up with Pamela Richards from WWJ group on Friday. We had a wonderful time. It was great to meet you Pamela.

Large focal bead

Right before I left I stopped by a booth that had hand blown venetian glass. I wasn't going to buy anything until I saw this bead (above) The red and blue just screamed at me. Maybe I was inspired or maybe I was just tired, but I picked up four beads. These are absolutely stunning. There are two smaller beads that will be used in a pair of earrings and there are two large focal beads.

Large focal bead

I purchased lots of wonderful beads. Turquoise, iolite, black onyx, and carnelian just to name a few. My poor DH just shook his head when I got home. Now that I have had a few days to rest and go through everything that I purchased I am ready to get to work on some new jewelry.

Venetian Fall

Venetian Fall
This started as a necklace with the beautiful colors of fall. But as I looked at these lovely stones, for some strange reason, I was reminded of a couple of wonderful days spent in Venice many years ago. The colors and the swirls through the large red agate reminded me of the tour of Murano and watching the glassblowers. Hence, the name Venetian Fall.

Copper Bracelet

Copper Bracelet
I had several "orphan" beads lying around and decided to make this bracelet. Each of the copper beads is different which makes this a one of a kind bracelet. I love the look of the copper with the clear Swawrovski crystals.
